Train it before you need it.

The other day I got overwhelmed by something… small.

Just a few work things stacking up.

One message I forgot to reply to.

Some pressure from a deadline that wasn’t even tight.

But it felt heavy.

Like way heavier than it should’ve.

And I had this strange thought:

“Why does this feel so hard right now?”

Then it hit me.

I’ve had harder days.

Way harder.

And I handled them better.

Not because the problems were smaller…

But because I was stronger.

That’s the danger of ease.

It creeps in slowly.

You start getting comfortable. You stop pushing your edges.

You rest a little too long between reps.

And then…

when life throws even a little bit of friction your way…

You feel it more than you should.

Resilience fades when it’s not used.

You don’t even notice it slipping.

Until something light starts to feel heavy.

And you realize: you’ve gone soft.

Not because you’re weak.

But because things got too easy for too long.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not anti-rest.

Recovery matters.

Ease has its place.

But when it becomes the default?

When it lasts too long?

You lose the edge that built you.

So here’s your reminder (and mine):

Don’t let comfort make you forget how strong you are.
Don’t wait until life forces you to be resilient again.
Train it now. Keep the edge sharp.

That doesn’t mean breaking yourself.

It means adding a little resistance back.

On purpose.

A harder choice.
A tougher rep.
A task you’ve been avoiding.
A stretch you’ve been making excuses around.

Not because you have to.

But because you want to stay strong.

Ease is nice.

But strength is better.

Train it before you need it.

To your growth,
Vikko
