The era of dopamine

Hey,

This is embarrassing to admit…

But right now, as I write this—

I’ve already switched from Threads → Gmail → Notes → YouTube → Instagram… back to Gmail.

And guess what?

I still haven’t done the ONE thing that actually matters today.

📌 The era of dopamine is here.

And it’s not just annoying.

It’s dangerous.

Distractions aren’t just stealing minutes.

They’re stealing momentum.

I’ve got 3 chunks of time in my day:
🔹 First half = Family & 9-5
🔹 Second half = Building something that matters
🔹 Reality = Doomscrolling + false productivity

Every switch, every scroll, every “quick check”... adds up.

And the cost?

A delayed dream. A stalled goal. A business that almost happened.

📌 Here’s the hard truth:
The people who can focus will win.

Not because they’re smarter.

But because they can sit with discomfort.

And do the boring work, without chasing a dopamine hit.

📌 Try this today:
Before you start building…

Put your phone in another room.

Set a 45-minute timer.

Block out distractions like your future depends on it… because it does.

You don’t need more time.

You need more attention.

To your success,
Vikko
