Shaky hands, tight chests, and green lights
A few months ago, I tried something that felt weirdly uncomfortable.
Not unsafe.
Not risky.
Just… off.
It was new. Slightly embarrassing. Public.
I felt it in my chest… that quiet tension of:
“What if this doesn’t go well?”
And for a moment, I hesitated.
Because that’s what we’ve been trained to do, right?
Scary = dangerous.
Fear = stop sign.
Discomfort = back away slowly.
But what if that’s wrong?
What if fear is sometimes… the green light?
Not always.
But more often than we admit.
Because here’s the thing:
If you're scared, but also curious?
Nervous, but also lit up?
Then maybe you're not in danger.
You're just on the edge of growth.
That’s what I’ve learned, not from books.
From reps.
The first time I posted something personal.
The first time I launched an offer without a funnel.
The first time I led something I didn’t feel “ready” for.
The first time I asked for the thing that made my voice shake.
Every time, I felt the fear.
And every time, the fear was wrong about the risk.
So now?
I still get scared.
But I don’t back away.
Instead, I ask:
“Is this fear trying to protect me… or evolve me?”
If it’s protecting me, great. I listen.
But if it’s stretching me?
I go.
Here’s the shift:
“This feels scary” doesn’t always mean stop.
It often means: keep going.
You’re finally in the right place.
Let it feel big.
Let it feel shaky.
Then step in anyway.
To your growth,
Vikko
