How To Get More Engagement (Without writing better posts)
Breaking news:
Woke up. Checked Threads.
Saw a post of mine hit 100+ likes.
Dopamine? Activated. “What a great start to the day”, I thought.
Now, I’d love for this to happen more often. But here’s the part that really got me thinking…
This isn’t the first time a post about engaging > broadcasting performed well.
Maybe—just maybe—there’s a lesson here.
The Growth Hack No One Talks About
Most beginners think audience growth comes from posting more.
It doesn’t.
Your first 1,000 followers won’t come from content volume.
They’ll come from conversations.
See, your content might be great. But if you’re not talking to people?
You’re invisible.
And if you are talking to people?
Reciprocity kicks in.
Engage with people who have a few hundred more followers than you.
Support people at your same level.
Be present where real conversations are happening.
Your content isn’t the main event.
It’s the proof that people should keep paying attention.
A Simple Shift That Changes Everything
My friend Katt Russ dropped this gem a few years ago:
✅ Engage first, then post.
Why?
Because social media rewards active participants.
Commenting puts your name in front of new eyeballs.
Conversations make you memorable.
Posting after engaging means more people actually see your post.
Try This Today → See What Happens
🔹 Reply to 5 people before you post.
🔹 Leave real, thoughtful comments (not just “Nice post!”).
🔹 Watch what happens to your post’s engagement after.
You in?
Drop a “🔥” in the replies if you’re doing this today.
To your growth,
